Bid.Com International Inc.

(BII/TSE), up $1 to $4.56, on Vol-
ume of 15.3 million shares.
It was another wild day of trad-
ing in the online Internet auction
company. With 32 million shares
outstanding - which does not in-
clude a recent warrant issue - the
equivalent of half the company's
shares changed hands. The stock
reached as high as $5.10 before
settling for a 28.1% gain.
Paul Godin, Bid.Com's chief exec-
utive, said last week the company
had received an unsolicited invita-
tion from Nasdaq to explore the
possibility of listing on the ex-
change. He said yesterday he feels
Nasdaq has an eye to encouraging
IPOs from rising stairs in the Inter-
net sector and his company will
consider seeking listing, probably
at the end of first-quarter 1999.
Mr. Godin said he did not want
the company to be lost in the rush
of IPOs expected at start of the
year. He said Bid.Com has plenty
of cash on hand from prior financ-
ing, but wants the profile a Nasdaq
listing affords.
