DJ Re: "Keep us posted"

Have a few preliminary results from my FBF (Fun but flawed) straddle tests for the internuts. Was looking mostly for those with negative earnings and/or astronomic PEs but also for those where options trading was at least a little liquid. That last part was more difficult (lots of open interest=2). Also some candidates had a NA Beta. Threw AOL in for the fun of it.

As straddles Jan 99 expirations closing prices 11-30-98
YHOO 10.73
XCIT 10.46
LCOS 5.91
AOL 4.55
SEEK 2.59

As puts only Jan 99 exp. "' "" calls=0
YHOO 31.24
LCOS 11.48
XCIT 10.46
AOL 8.38
SEEK 5.18

As puts only Jan 99 exp "" "" all Betas set @ 1.0
YHOO 10.14
CDNW 5.00
AOL 4.29
AMZN 4.20
LCOS 4.00
XCIT 2.76
SEEK 2.72
ONSL 2.00

Set the Betas at 1.0 so as to include Beta NAs CDNW,AMZN,ONSL.

Am considering going with puts only instead of straddle. YHOO is a concern despite its score because they are so damn good at what they do and the possibility that someone will buy them or merge. XCIT has that relationship with AOL going for it so LCOS may be my play.
One thing for sure, they all(execpting AOL) have really high short interest in relation to their float. Wouldn't like to see a strong rally fueled by short covering. Any thoughts?
