Cable modem manufacturers: GIC (General Instrument), SFA (Scientific Atlanta) and Motorola are the three mfg'ers that come to mind. GIC has a huge contract to supply TCOMA and other big cable companies with cable boxes in the years ahead. I believe that they will cable modem capability. MRC, I agree with you that cable modem is an area of worthwhile investment. You might want to look at the companies that will provide the internet service via cable modem, such as ATHM (@Home), TWX (Time Warner) and UMG (Media One). The latter two are the providers of Roadrunner cable modem service, which i am presently using to access the web, and which you'd have to kill me to take away from me. larrry
