More thoughts on the new rifle...Clearly, the procurement process is different than I assumed, but still sounds bullish for Valence. I am puzzled by the claim that the new rifle is a replacement for the M16. At a weight of 14 lbs., this is significantly heavier than the current weapon. Also, the complexity and cost are unusual. Sounds more like a squad weapon to me. If so, the production numbers wouldn't be anywhere near a million, plus. Anyway, I'll try to find the article before speculating further.
