Well, that's what the banks HOPE they can do. Actually, I think customers who are web-savvy enough to use PC banking are also smart enough to use the 'net to shop around for the best mortgage rates, insurance rates, and brokerage rates.

Personally, I use Cite for banking and billpay, but wouldn't dream of paying their brokerage rates when Datek is available.

Bottom line: EBPP is something banks MUST offer whether they want to or not, whether it is profitable in the short term or not. But they will adopt it more quickly if CKFR can show them how they can share in the cost savings that are inherent in the method. If it costs 30 cents to present and pay a bill electronically, and $1.00 to $1.50 to do it by mail, then why not cut the banks in for a little of the difference?
