donald: I would suspect the short-term top is in. My stuff will most likely give short-term sell signals at the close from both my SHT MACDX_OSC and the NYSE ADV/DEC MACDX_OSC, unless the Market reverses big time. I believe you may be right about a whipsaw pattern intraday. However, I believe the overall direction will be down short-term. Time will tell...
