Downsouth - I have been careful to exclude any 'inside' knowledge from my posts. The RS futures I discussed were conversation over beer and not privileged. I have not in fact had either confirmation or denial on this from any IBM managers. But I think the trend is obvious. On the other hand some of the SP2 switch technology has a lot of promise and if IBM can successfully work that into a mainstream architecture they may have a winner. They need to get to a VI compliant transport to make that happen.
