Perhaps the "dummied down" statement for the regular account contains info for BOTH holdings, type 1 & 2. Every statement I've seen has always combined type "1" through type "6".

I pulled a few samples:
PaineWebber showing only the first 8 digits
Raymond James showing only the first 8 digits
Security Capital Trading showing only the first 8 digits
CIBC Oppenheimer Corp showing only the first 8 digits

Ameritrade shows all of the first 10 digits
Regal Discount shows all of the first 10 digits
Wall Street Access shows all of the first 10 digits
BT Alex. Brown shows all of the first 10 digits
People's Securities shows all of the first 10 digits
First Hanover shows all of the first 10 digits

GKN Securities has a different format XNN-NNNNNNN - "Cash"
A.G. Edwards has an extra digit in the format NN NNN-NNN -1

That's all I have here at my desk. (I see maybe 50 different brokerages when clients submit them to me)

Regardless of the format and the presentation OTC-BB stocks may only be held in Type "1". Type "2" is not allowable. It is an error (illegal) if you ever see an OTC-BB in a type "2" account.

Let's see what ML has to add! Colin
