As in infallible meaning incapable of error, being perfect or does my definition need correction?
Not in the least. I have openly stated on this thread that I am opposed to the doctrine of the RC institution where it it teaches idolatry, praying to Mary or saints, and numerous other teachings contrary to the scriptures. I judge the tree by the fruit that it bears as the bible says to do. The inquisition and the atrocities of any church or institution are examples of good or bad fruit.
Membership in an institution does not make a person a Christian nor does the claim of that institution that they are Christian necessarily make it so.
If a catholic or protestant can genuinely state (for God judges the heart not paying heed to lip service) that they have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ asking forgiveness for sins and to be saved that makes them a Christian not a tradition of any institution.
The "Church" in the bible is the "body of Christ" comprised of born again believers. The many "churches" we see today and in the past are often not representative of what the Lord calls the church.
Jesus has a stern warning to the worldly church today found in Revelation 3:16 where He says shape up or I will "spew thee out of my mouth."
I view only God as perfect. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
That would include the pope and head of every protestant denomination or religion throughout the world including you and me.
