EMC Expands Into Eastern Europe With Polish Subsidiary HOPKINTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1998--EMC Corporation, the world's leading provider of enterprise storage systems, software and services, today announced it has opened EMC Computer Systems Polska to serve its growing customer base in Poland. Jan Smolski, a computer industry veteran, has been appointed Country Manager of EMC Poland. EMC Poland is the company's first direct presence in Eastern Europe and the 15th country in Europe in which EMC has a direct presence. National Bank of Poland is utilizing EMC Enterprise Storage for its Year 2000 testing, and Polkomtel S.A. relies on EMC for information sharing and disaster recovery.
