Unclewest, Absolutely agree with you that Intel has declared Rambus the winner. I'm not sure that you'll see "Rambus inside" on the PCs, though, (I'd love to, however). No one put "EDO RAM inside" or "Synchronous DRAM inside" on PCs when those technologies appeared. Maybe this time will be different, though, since there's more of a brand-name associated with the technology. As an aside, I bought my current PC two years ago when Synchronous DRAM was just hitting the market. When I was ready to upgrade the memory from 32M to 65M, I tried buying it from Micron's mail order division (I forget the name of the company). After sending back two different DIMMs, the techs (who were incredibly diligent and helpful) told me that Gateway had used SDRAMs that were different than the standard that eventually emerged. Instead of paying $230 to Micron, I had to pay Gateway $300 for the SDRAM DIMM. The Rambus technology, since they control the spec so closely, should make this a non-issue. I doubt the same can be said for DDR DRAM, SLDRAM, et. al. David B
