FWIW, there often seems to be a tech selloff on the last day of a month. I've always assumed it's caused by money "managers" trying to appear conservative (by not showing volatile and risky tech stocks in their monthly reports). Conversely, the first day of a month often seems to be a good one for techs, presumably as those same "managers" load back up.

I've never tested to see whether my impression is objectively correct, so it could be totally wrong -- it's just my impression.
