Chris: to call my handle morbid is a misunderstanding behind its meaning. I suggest you look at the links on my profile page carefully.

"The Evil Dead" is a paradox; you can't be evil and dead at the same time.

Would it make any more sense if I were to say, "The Good Dead?"

Sounds simple but the fact is most would rather adhere to their own agendas.

So my self-interest theory holds water, then...?

And could you also then surmise that the people running the Church... could they be self-interested also?

BTW, the Church's mission is defined by those who run it. Like a government institution with a Constitution, the word of God is subject to the interpretation of the people running the Church at a given time. Don't believe me? My proof is Vatican II.

As a matter of fact, is it possible, without the actual written original texts at hand, that the Catholic Church was able to add words onto different translations... perhaps even to what Jesus said...?

Now that is a morbid thought.
