That article on the Zenit was very interesting. As far as we know, however, that statement that G* plans to launch 12 sats on a Zenit next March is not true.(we hope !) In any case, the planned Zenit launch of the Okean satellite in December was postponed to February, due to a lack of funds. Sea Launch is going ahead, with a rehersal in January, and the test launch on March 14.

My main worry right now is the Soyuz-Ikar. The three stage Soyuz has a very good record, but the Ikar module is a somewhat new animal. I don't quite understand why they need a four stage rocket for a LEO mission-it seems like overkill. The more hardware that is used, the greater the potential for trouble. The Zenit was really a very simple system by comparison, and if that darned computer hadn't shut down the engine early, it would have been a perfect launch.
