I friend of mine has already gotten a call from the broker. Broker said "ante up" or yer outta bidness... Bought a high flier that didn't hold up and no stop on it. He went out to run a few errands and came back at 3:50 to see a big loss. One Simple solution could be: Buy stocks at less than $5 and don't margin them. I don't margin anything unless it has sound fundamentals in place and the market is good. I know I don't make as much money this way, but I don't lose as much either. There are many stocks out there that are trading at <$5 that haven't been "found" yet by internet fever traders. There will be a few that go from $3 to $20 or more by Christmas. Tom
