Would you prefer Eric Burdon and the animals, or Eric Burdon and War?

You want high energy band that hasn't been mentioned, how about
REO Speedwagon. Heres a show I saw in Kansas City in '77

Head East, Little River Band, Climax Blues Band, Black Oak Arkansas,
Reo Speedwagon and Ted Nugent. REO stole the show and Nugent was banned from KC for cussing(live broadcast) because the speakers weren't loud enough.

lee, I saw Leo Kottke play at Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin in the mid 70's. My friends and I invited him back to my place after the concert. Believe it or not, he accepted. His manager ran screaming after my friend's yellow Volkswagen van (LOL) as we drove away. He said he wanted to be with some "real" people. I fixed him breakfast and he told us about his family. We were dying for him to play for us, but he couldn't. He showed us the bleeding calluses on his fingers! I agree no one could play a 12 string like him!

Yes to Leon Russell.

Someone was talking about songwriters - - > Paul Anka.
He wrote some good ones...including The Tonight Show theme song.
