Good point! But you might pardon the Republicans for thinking that there was indeed some poll that said the Republicans would win big. Because right now, many of them are dazed and are still trying to figure out what hit them! :-)

<<I don't remember the polls saying the Republicans would win big. I remember the Republicans saying the Republicans would win big. >>

Are Al Hunt and Margaret Carlson of the Capital Gang on CNN Republican or conservative? You can't get farther from Republican and conservative that those two and they both predicted big wins for the Republicans on their Saturday night show just before the elections. Mark Shields, also of Capital Gang, is the ONLY pundit that I heard actually predict that the Republicans would have a zero gain! As far as the polls are concerned, Celinda Lake, a Democrat, and her partner (can't remember his name) but they both polled pickups for Reps. Dick Morris, hardly a Republican, predicted big pickup by Reps. Also the NYT, Washington Post, ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN/Time polls showed Republicans picking up lots of seats!!!

Sounds like you're drinking Michelle's Blue Nun with your above referenced statement!
