If the new margin requirements are just BS, why was it mentioned on CNBC three times this afternoon after 1:00 PM? It may be CNBC BS but it is not internet BS.

to any and all, trying to make trades today was a nightmare. my brokerage, discover, was unable to get anything done for me and it was both good and bad. good because i never got filled after putting in a buy order when navr was @ about 18. bad because i never got filled. if i'd missed making money, i would be very unhappy. what brokerages do any of you use and how is their performance on days like this? for a while i couldn't even reach discover online and the phone wait was >30 minutes too. once i made it on, it wouldn't navigate through the various screens and wouldn't deliver quotes. all in all, a very poor performance. anyone out there got anything better?
