Funny Andy I believe the standard OS for the Palm-top is from 3Com as well. I sure havent seen that many Window-CE systems walking around although I have seen hundreds of PalmPilots.

But who knows what logic the MSFT fans use to determine what a Standard OS is. I believe a standard OS in their minds is one that has the MSFT logo on it - LOL!!!

Why are second tier manufacturers like Lucky Goldstar(!), Everex (back from bankruptcy?) and Philips (yet to make a succesful computer product) mostly behind the new CE devices? are First Tier manufacturers no longer willing to shoulder the tooling cost for a product which isnt selling?

personally, I have yet to run into anyone who is actually using a Windows CE device while pilots are ubiquitous. The new CE based mini-notebooks (HP Journada) seems like a flop as well - it looked like it was built to spec for a $300 machine while the selling price was a thousand dollars - meanwhile the Sony VAIO 505 is selling for 1699 and using windows 98.
