In the fullness of time I must try this, as you say,
but I have tried near variations on it. In any case,
I don't want to argue with the bios every time I want
to change my power down settings. The flinking power
switch is only 42 inches away and works every time.

Nevertheless, I appreciate the input. As a thought
experiment, I will try it; as a practical matter it
doesn't make a heck of a lot of difference.

It's AMI, btw.
