From the Yahoo CPQ Investors Club...... employee discount she_xlr8s (44/F/TX) Nov 30 1998 8:07PM EST this is mainly for the SI thread on what i meant on the employee discount. they get 7% off the retail price of their computers not 7% over cost. employee purchases are handled through "compaq works". not to say they only get refurbished pcs, that's just who handles it. so i was not at all surprised to see the shareholder offer. must be some model they can't unload any other way. employees were wondering if they got the shareholder offer AND their 7%...i seriously doubt that... somewhere someones writing up the disclaimer disallowing that, if they haven't already. with the tight budget allowances most employees are wondering if they'll get a bonus this year or a bone-ass. all in all though i have never seen employees have such a high regard for e.p. and his leadership as i have lately. do we take this as some kind of indicator??? i have met the man and was very impressed.
