Toy,
Just a comment on OS/390. When I left IBM to trade the market full time, OS/390 was out and it's really just a repackaged MVS. IBM at that time also started calling the CMOS mainframes 'servers'. Marketing in the 'network era'....

I agree on the mainframe, it will remain strong in the forseeable future. As for the 'fat middle' of the server business, lots of competition...
