I'd guess 28 years. That would take into account the leap year phenomenon. I think. So, in that case, the identical year(s) would be 2028 and 1972.

By the way, that's the theory behind the "phase shift" or "date biasing" Y2K fixes out there. They automatically adjust the dates backwards by 28 years.

Fortunately, 2000 IS a leap year because it's evenly divisible by 4, 100, AND 400. Otherwise that whole theory would blow smoke.
