-- 3Com equipment provides infrastructure for MCK's Voice-over-IP
application in an end-to-end DOCSIS data network --

ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1998--
MCK Communications, Inc., the leading provider of remote
voice technology for telecommuters, remote call center agents,
executives and branch offices and 3Com Corporation, the leader
in converged networking, today demonstrated remote voice
access to the PBX over a cable network. This demonstration,
the first of its kind, utilized MCK's IP EXTender(tm)
technology and a 3Com DOCSIS-compliant cable modem to
access a remote PBX over MSO-provided business IP service.
The CableNET demonstration, shown here at the Western Cable
Show, further exemplifies MCK's and 3Com's commitment to
providing valued-added applications such as remote voice
technology over either circuit or packet networks. The
applications will soon be available to any user on any network,
allowing remote workers seamless access to their PBX, Key or
Automated Call Distribution (ACD) System.
