Hmmmm . . . I probably handled the overly fresh and familiar brother-in-law in the wrong way. I told my husband, his brother, and expected that he would handle the situation. However, my husband's brother is older, and much bigger, and I think he felt intimidated. Also, my sister-in-law was always there, and I never wanted to make a scene that would make her feel humiliated and bring even more attention to it. Did I mention three children running around the room while this was going on? And of course my brother-in-law was always drunk when he acted like that. He was a perfect gentleman when he was sober. Did I mention that he is Irish? My experience is that between Catholic indoctrination and repression, bottled up feelings and the notorious Irish inability to handle alcohol, Irish guys are pretty out-there drunks. They come over hearing wild tales about all the sex acts American women love to perform that their Irish wives would not even dream of doing, and they just get very excitedly lost in some wild sex fantasy and act quite stupid. And now he lives in Idaho, so I don't have to worry about it anymore!

You don't like to talk about religion? I guess I do, particularly when we can call each other names. This is perfect:

<You're going to burn in a lake of fire!"

"Am not! You're a homophobic, misogynistic, racist, antisemitic pig!">

You catch on right away, Blue! The real fun is in the infinite variety of ways these two sentences can be restated for amusement and fresh digs. In fact, I guess that's a primary reason there are so many posts on this thread.
