They were just planning on eating up the current inventory. If they needed to, they were going to place one more order the convert the 1.5 chips to V2 chipsets.

Heya... I'm a Mach6 developer, so whenever I see Mach6 I get pulled into a thread :-).

I also have a TNT and a Voodoo2 on my desktop. The Voodoo2 is far and away the better board.

Example: Voodoo2 runs Quake2 about 30% faster than the TNT.
Example: Halflife is almost totally crippled under TNT... D3D didn't work at all for me, and OpenGL was a joke.

TNT does show that other people can play in the same ballpark with 3DFX, but the Voodoo2 solutions are still king. The magazines I think are getting excited over benchmarks and the fact that there is actuall y an option to Voodoo now.

I don't consider it much of an option. If I had my choice to do this again, I'd buy this system without the TNT in it.
