Let's keep in mind a few important issues. We were looking at opinions from people on the Dell thread and of course they believe that SUNW has no chance against the wintel/dell threat. Also, they simply dismiss JAVA which is very easy to do if you don't understand what's happening in the developer community. They don't seem to understand that SUNW continues to be the server of choice for the serious high end internet application where multiple processors scaling isn't as easy as some want us to believe. They dismiss SUNW from the internet, which is laughable. I think that SUNW should ask all of their customers to "unhook" from the internet for 10 minutes. This would open up the eyes of the world as to SUNW's place on/in the internet. I'm not sure the internet would even function if that were to take place.

Merced is years away. NT2000 is years away. SUNW/SPARC/Solaris is here now.

JMO,
Michael
