More Briefing.com

Monday saw some of the speculative fever we talked about come out of the market. It doesn't mean the start of a sharp downturn, though, even in Internet stocks.

Granted, Internet stocks could come down quite a bit more, particularly if this Christmas isn't the blockbuster for every single company, as the market currently seems to expected. Yet, we suspect that the buyers will be back in a day or two. One day won't crush greed. These stocks may trend lower over time, but Briefing.com doubts they will plunge. The same goes for the overall market.

Still, be aware of a potential mood shift if earnings warnings or earnings estimates cuts start. On Monday, Goldman cut Disney estimates, but that may only be the start. A raft of earnings warnings the next couple of weeks could put the market on the defensive.
