This question wasn't to me but I would like to clarify with what my answer would be. After consideration of this answer you may want to ask your question again.

You were asked "Do you believe there is a higher power than yourself in the Universe?"

To be able to answer you would have to define self. I daresay there are not many who can truly define self with unanimous consent. Most would say it is what is defined as Ego. However it must be agreed there is a part of self which is known as the subconcious as well as concious mind. Philosophers say it differently as Ego or ID. The Apostle Paul tells us we are both animal and spiritual beings. Or as the bible quotes him the first Adam is of earth, the second Adam is the Lord from Heaven.

My answer would be to you both yes and no. Yes the animal has a higher power. No there is no higher power than the God who dwells in me and is a part of my duality.

The no answer describes perfectly the situation Christians deny, for they have faith God is outside themselves and reigning in a place identified as heaven.

I am amazed the Christians use the council of Nicea as authority for the bible and have never bothered to check history of the times to see why the council was called. Or that Constantine was trying to shut up the split over the trinity doctrine and cover up the stories of his wifes prostitution.

Remember this: Truth should be enforced by fact not faith. Truth should welcome investigation.

lol... it's not a copout, Joe. My answer entails that I cannot answer what I cannot hope to know. You know me from RMIL, Joe. I flipflop when I learn something new. It is able to pursuade me, but that doesn't mean that it is a permanent persuasion.

If you limit yourself to the realm of what "you" deem plausable (or ponderable) is very
limiting.

C'mon, man. Even Picasso and Einstein felt it was possible to prove things that were deemed impossible by others. But they were able to appeal to the five senses of man in order to do that. In terms of a higher power, I cannot think of a way to prove that there is some higher power in the universe. But because of the fact that I exist and think, I cannot disprove the fact, either.
