You have asked very astute questions. The answer you need to find is what resources are committed to marketing and PR. Once you have that answer you will understand the companies chart in spite of the wonderful technology. They don't get it.

I suggest that you follow what Don Devlin told you to do. ECD has not been able to manufacture, on a profitable basis, the products that it has the basic patents on and has not been able (perhaps in the future it will) get enough royalties to cover even the cost of its basic patent development. Other firms continue to use the ECD patents but ECD has yet to get these "pirates" to pay up. These firms may not pirates in their eyes. They just don't believe that they are infringing on ECD's patents. ECD has to have the financial resources to demonstrate to the courts that ECD owns the relevant patents. If I am wrong and in fact the firms do know that they are infringing on ECD's patents, but are doing it any way because of what they see as ECD's weak financial position, they are pirates. If it is only a matter of gentlemen (and ladies) disagreeing, ECD again must show, in court, these gentlemen (any ladies)that they are infringing on ECD's patents.
