>>3Com will be AT&T's first customer to use ATM service to transmit voice, video and data to Singapore.<<

This is called "one hand washes the other". :-)

>>"Our agreement with 3Com underscores AT&T's
leadership role and our ability to provide
state-of-the-art convergent, high-bandwidth
networks adaptable to the current and emerging
application needs of the corporation," said Joe
Lueckenhoff, product and marketing vice president
of data networking for AT&T. <<

This means a lot for AT&T to be able to say the above. They
are now qualified to provide Enterprise Data Services to
any major Enterprise Business in the world. Great marketing
move by AT&T. We'll have to see if similar ones, with
other teleco/networker combinations come up in the future.

I always keep in mind that AT&T's Data Services are by far
the fastest growing part of its business (and possibly, the
only primary one of significance anymore).
