TANISYS TECHNOLOGY OBTAINS APPROVAL FOR ISO 9001 REGISTRATION

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Tanisys Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:
TNSU) ("Tanisys"), a leading supplier of build to order "BTO" custom
products for PC manufacturers, today announced that their manufacturing
and design facility in Austin, Texas is approved for registration under
ISO 9001. This is recognized as a major accomplishment throughout the
international business community as a consistent dedication to
continuous quality improvement to all manufacturing processes in a
business. ISO 9001 represents an improvement over ISO 9002 by
including engineering, research, design and development processes.

"Increasing competitive levels in the marketplace drive customers to
seek suppliers with a commitment to quality management," said Chuck
Comiso, Chief Executive Officer and President of Tanisys. "The ISO
auditors' approval of Tanisys demonstrates the level of our Engineering
procedures, which is a key differentiator in our core businesses."

"ISO 9001 registration will indicate that Tanisys has a consistent and
reliable development process which incorporates both verification and
validation of its designs. The creation of our Certification Lab was a
big step in getting our ISO 9001 registration," said Dr. Joe Klein,
Vice President of Engineering. "Our engineering capabilities are a key
advantage for Tanisys as evidenced by our leadership positions in
registered memory modules, Direct Rambus module designs, and DarkHorse
memory module testers."

"This approval for ISO 9001 Registration is due to a concerted effort
by the Quality Management Team throughout Tanisys," said Brian
Callaghan, Manager of Product and Customer Assurance at Tanisys. "We
believe this clearly demonstrates that our proven capabilities to get
products quickly to market do not sacrifice the quality orientation of
our processes."
