wow ! good move. up 3 now on 5.6 million shares !

The BC Tel news is also very significant. It's the first major ADSL deal I have seen for coms/nn. Also BC Tel is merging with Alberta phone company Telus. Telus is using Netspeed's (now cisco) ADSL stuffs right now. Think about it, Telus could switch to Coms adsl equimpements too in the future.

Here is my take on marriage:
T will buy with LU taking the highend data stuffs so that T will keep all edge products and build services based on this. This is similar to AOL-NSCP-SUNW marriage.
Pice target $70.
LU will pay as much $40 to T.

2nd option is HP buying COMS to keep move ahead of "printers only"
image. Price target $65, why? their west coast culture can continue without too much rumbling from employees.

All the best.

I am breathing a huge sigh of relief this morning
when market seemed to stabilize and the $38 support
for COMS held. It was such a big resistance for so
long, COMS had a tough time penetrating it, but now
it is acting as a support. I think we will not see
$38 again until the splits (unless the market crashes
a 1000 points of course). A steady stream of great news
is coming out (or being planned as timed-release by
3COM?) and earnings hopefully will comfortably beat the
whisper number of 32c. My guess is 36c, or maybe 38c
if we are lucky. I still feel stock will be at $49+
by Dec 31, 1998!!!
