Geeez Charles... I'm going to have to start referring to you as Sen. McCarthy..... <VBG> J/K Red Chinese?? The only communist Chinese left in China are Octangenarians who, while recognizing that change and liberalization must occur, wish to retain the authoritative political infrastructure that would prevent social chaos from erupting. I'm not expressing an opinion on whether or not this is proper or humanitarian. However, I believe it to be a fact that requires an objective opinion. Pinochet was also called a dictator (and rightly so). But he also knew when to get out and let the system run on its own. I think both countries are seeing drastic positive changes in their economic and political health. This is something that the internet and information age will accelerate. The Chinese leadership seem to just want to moderate the rate of change. This is something that I grudgingly have to agree with, while I do not agree with domestic oppression or police brutality. Tough row to hoe, but somewhere down the line I think China will emerge as a force to be reckoned with, tempered by a more democratic society demanding input into their government. Regards, Ron
