Clinton got too greedy in my opinion. He tried to get much higher taxes and FDA regulation, and spent most of his time extolling the many spending programs he was going to initiate. If they were going to have the FDA control the nicotine (at least for domestic consumption), the tax shouldn't have to be as high since the demand would be decreased.

I'm not for FDA regulation on tobacco or for criminalization of pot. I can understand taxation on those two products if they go toward offsetting lung disease costs that are borne by my insurance costs and by public insurance. So far, no one has offered to lower my health insurance premiums to offset my being a non-smoker.
