Cisco CEO Sees Internet
Leveling Playing Field For
Cos.

Dow Jones Newswires

NEW YORK -- The Internet and data networking
systems will level the playing field between
large and small companies, according to Cisco
Systems Inc. (CSCO) Chief Executive John
Chambers.

Regardless of company size, Internet winners
and losers will emerge over the next few years,
Chambers told CNBC Tuesday. "Companies will
gain or lose market share very rapidly," he
said.

In the meantime, wading through the maze of
Internet investment options can be
challenging, Chambers said. Look at
management teams, competition and customer
base before making a commitment, he
suggested.

Chambers believes the industry will be able to
grow at a "30 plus rate" over the next three to
five years. And "if it isn't us, it will be
somebody else," Chambers said.
