Gary leaving means that the new CEO has been selected and the house-cleaning has started (opinion, not fact). I like Gary: always available, listened well, very creative. Most of the major innovations out of EDS came from Gary, and most of the big initiatives to grow the company had his name on them: government services, AT Kearney, international, acquisitions.

I can't tell what the street will do. Gary had most of the relations up there, so I suspect both the boo-birds and the cheerleaders will have their say.

The separation packages are astounding. The old rule of thumb applies: he who has the gold makes the rules. Gee whiz, we are giving 5% of earnings to TWO GUYS!!! Wow. I'm stunned.
