Sand Technology to Ship 60,000 Copies of Nucleus - Sand, Compaq, Acxiom, Brio, Wyle Electronics and HDS Align for Nucleus Program
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Sand Technology Systems International Inc. (Nasdaq: SNDCF) announced today that Sand has implemented a program in cooperation with DM Review Magazine to include one copy of the award winning Nucleus Exploration Mart software solution with each copy of DM Review for the upcoming January issue. The Nucleus license comes with a ninety-day license key so individual users and organizations may witness the advantages of Nucleus within their environment, regardless of their domain, business user or technologist. The Nucleus license is restricted under Win/95 to a single user and 1 GB data and under Win/NT to 25 users and 25 GB of data using a single instruction processor.
The DM Review business users will see that Nucleus eliminates the exponential time delays and inherent complexities associated with programs like: customer relationship management, risk analysis/management, target marketing, customer behavioral, inventory, competitive analysis, marketing campaigns and logistics efforts.
Technologists, specifically data base administrators, will see that Nucleus provides a sound prototyping environment for the iterative development that must take place between technologists and end users for cleansing data, testing business logic, auditioning business queries and visualizing the results within mart. Nucleus provides an effective and efficient platform for delivering a useful data mart to the business enterprise.
"Our customers have several things in common. They are severely constrained because all technical resources are committed to Y2K and ERP issues. They are continually restricted in the types of questions they can ask. They are judged on results and they're running out of time," stated Kevin Horigan, executive vice president, Sand. "With this unique proof statement to the readership of DM Review, they will witness our exceptional results; no specialized technical resources needed to implement Nucleus. Use Nucleus and get answers to any question, any time, regardless of complexity.
And, negate the need for resource intensive, time consuming 'cube' building and database re-indexing exercises."
For the convenience of the DM Review readership and in order to make the use of Nucleus easy, effective and successful, Sand has compiled a world class team of partners to participate and lend their expertise to this program. Compaq Computer Corporation, Brio Technology, Acxiom Corporation, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) and Wyle Electronics are all partnered with Sand in this program. Brio's world class front-end tool has been included on the Nucleus CD for those people who either do not have a front-end tool or for users who wish to see the enhanced integration of the Brio and Nucleus solutions. For users who wish to view data other than their own internal data Acxiom has included demonstration data on the CD and specific information on accessing the Acxiom Data Network (A.D.N.). Compaq provides the recommended server, workstation and desktop computing platforms for Nucleus 95, Nucleus NT and 64-bit Digital Unix. Compaq also delivers data mart and business intelligence expertise through the Compaq North America Professional Services Group. Sand's OEM partner, Hitachi Data Systems and Master Reseller, Wyle Electronics stand ready to provide support for customer presentations, product demonstrations, technical support, pricing configurations and procurement services.
