Fly - Last week I had an inquiry with E*Trade that went through without a hitch...the credited my account for the price it should have been sold at!

Today was a different story...

I bought a stock at market and the order stayed open for two hours...There was very little activity on the stock when I put the market order in, and nothing happened..I figured it was ordered, but not updated (as was the case before) - well, 30 minutes later I sold the stock and both orders were still open. About 30 minutes later, I got confirmation of the sell at a price that I thought was very good...60 minutes later, the buy was shown on my screen at 50 cents higher then what I expected.

I called Customer Service and waited on hold 1 hour...Finally got through and they said "from what they could see, I should have filled 50 cents earlier than I did" - They said they would call back with the resolution...Nothing yet...

Fly -- trade inquiries frequently go in the way of the investor. If you have Level 2, be sure to tell them the exact time your order was entered; if you do not have Level 2, ALWAYS note the date, hour and minute of your trades. That way you can tell them "I had a limit in for 12 minutes and it never filled". In most cases, with such documentation, the inquiry conclusion will go your way. But you need to have the times.

Prosperous Trading!
