Because, first of all, it is the CEOs job to ensure the company is stable and to obtain profitability. It is also his job to produce value for the shareholders, not to make them rich overnight. Listing amongst a flurry of IPOs, and getting sucked upwards in shareprice, is a guarentee that it is going to fall just as fast in the correction. Listing with less fanfare, will garner more attention to the attributes of the company, and help to solidify shareprice.

I think the CEO is just trying to lay low for now and surprise everyone later on with a huge revenue increase next year. For instance, Godin's revenue projection for Bid.com will reach $50,000,000(1999) There's high possibility that we might get $90,000,000, da man is just being conservative with his numbers.
Is just like when he said, "he doesn't want to rush to the Nasdaq right now and be loss in the mass of IPO, prefering to wait until 1stQ of 1999." Let me put it this way only a dodo will do a thing like that. (CEO)Paul Godin is a smart businessman, some of the thing he said has different meanings to it. The quicker we get on Nasdaq the higher our price will go, Godin & Yorky have more to gain by pushing the stock up now then later. BII will take off again in the coming weeks, we should get on Nasdaq by late Jan or early Feb 99.
