Corel draws up deal
...Neither Corel or Lamarr disclosed terms of the deal, which quashes a June trial in Florida, where the screen siren's attorney was reported to be seeking $7.5 million US in royalties and $7.5 million in punitive damages.

Corel is also suggesting it will resolve a lawsuit from Texas-based Micrografx Inc. for copyright infringement by week's end.

"You'll likely see something on Micrografx soon," said Chris Van Barr, corporate counsel at Corel. "Negotiations are underway."

...Two lawsuits remain on Corel's books.

The biggest threat stems from a class action suit from shareholders alleging they were misled on the firm's financial performance while senior officers sold holdings at inflated prices.

Corel continues to wait on a judge's decision in a lawsuit launched by U.K.-based Bridgeman Art Library Ltd., which owns the reproduction rights to the Mona Lisa and dozens of other art classics.

Bridgeman, which is suing Corel for using the works in a line of its CD-ROMs, may be seeking as much as $12 million.

I can see the quarterly report now....

Corel would have and could have made money except for the settlement with Hedy.
Like always, a one time charge for ??????? causes further losses.

This is so predictible its' almost funny!

What will be the charge next quarter?
