Like you say, the barriers to entry in regards to costs and bandwidth available are practically non-existant. That being the case, there should be hundreds or thousands entering this market. If there is a mere dozen or so doing it I guess you can say others are really not jumping into this. At least in a relative way. And also, those few getting into it so far it would appear to me are not putting a lot of money into their sites/portals. I'll be the first to admit that beyond some of the bugs that crop up with Yahoo, they've got one of the best sites around with some great content. My conjecture here is that nobody has proven yet that the portal business can make much money. Until that happens, you won't see the current players throwing a lot of money into it or have hundreds or thousands of new competitors entering the market. Dave
