<hehe--double top-hehehe>

Puff, I don't know a thing about TA but thinking about your statement-
technicians could call a double top
and suggesting weakness, makes me thing that every single stock issue
of any credibility also shows a "double top". One Friday and one
today--Is that what you mean ??

I think this "overextended thing" is a bit overextended

>>On a short term basis, the stocks are over extended

I have to agree. From 10/8 to today the nasdaq comp leaped over 500 points without a falter, except for Monday, of course. It is reasonable, appropriate, and logical that there should be a correction, but it's entirely possible we won't see one until after 1Q99. This is indeed a new market, and traditional expectations aren't met with regularity, as witnessed by the profitless.com sector. As one of the new breed of investors, you should appreciate that.

>>Medium term, CSCO looks GGGRRREEEAAAT

Please define medium term; I got the feeling
Frank

btw, after getting your education in n. cal, how could you relocate to Brooklyn???

Well, I'll throw my 2 cents in...

Any company who can stand up to the monopolies of the 7 baby bells, and say "We will make your (70 years to build) infrastructure obsolete in the next 4 years" and mean it, has my vote! Chambers mentioned in Las Vegas that a nationwide ISP became a 300 points of presence long distance carrier for less than the cost of three 5ESS switches.
Since CSCO has the IP phones now, and they are licensing technology to everyone (including refrigerator manufacturers), this truly is redefining communications infrastructure. Chambers doesn't feel that CSCO has to manufacture and sell every product, that is used, to be king of the hill. He just wants of own the communications technology. (Kind of like Bill Gates)
CSCO is the best at practicing what they preach. With 37 'virtual' manufacturing facilities and 'no time at all' manufacturing (as opposed to 'just in time') CSCO's model redefines how manufacturing organizations will exist tomorrow.
They are pretty far ahead of the crowd in a number of ways.
