Dallas, Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Broadcast.com Inc., which distributes sports events, news and music over the Internet, said it signed an agreement to link its site with Amazon.com Inc. to sell books and music related to Broadcast's programming.

Amazon, the No. 1 Internet retailer of books and music, will be featured throughout Broadcast's Web site. The agreement will let Broadcast users order CDs or books from Amazon that are related to concerts or other programs.

Dallas-based Broadcast said it hopes to gain a larger online audience by adding the high-profile book and music seller to its sites. Both companies seek to benefit by offering complementary services.

As part of the agreement, Seattle-based Amazon will advertise through some of Broadcast's online advertising services, which include audio and video ads as well as banner ads that run along the top of sites.

A value for the agreement wasn't disclosed and officials of the companies weren't immediately available to comment.

Broadcast shares fell 3 1/2 to 62 1/2. Amazon, the 27th most- active stock in U.S. trading, rose 17 1/2 to 209 1/2..
