RE: Y2K..

I hear you..but I still keep trying to
assess the impact on our normal daily
routine..my main concern is the payments
system..as long as we can cash checks..get
money from an ATM..trade our stocks..OK..
anything else that goes wrong falls in the
category of a "minor" inconvenience.. like
the satellite that wandered off course and
disrupted the paging network for a few days..
but if we lose access to our $$$ however
briefly...look-out..just MHO..but then
how does one prepare without making this a
self-fulfilling prophecy..if we all take out
a little extra cash..because we are afraid of
a run on the banking system..we'll cause the
run on the banking system...kinda catcha-22..
And if the bleaker scenarios I've read come
true..then the only relatively unscathed folks
will be the 'survivalist' crowd and those already
living 'off-grid' somewhere rural..

Jim in CT..too much to worry about.
