SOROS… Your “bats” may be fluttering and my brain is beginning to flutter. I am trying to put together a number of things relative to ZITL. There are a number of things that say to me some news is on the horizon but for the life of me I cannot predict whether it is good or bad. I received some information that Mat. recently laid off 50 programers (end of November and had laid off 49 programmers in July. Staff was 150 in July and is now down to about 50 people. I dislike dealing in rumors. I cannot factually support this information other than it was something I was told who lives on the west coast and had friends at M. Can anyone verify. Question is why would they lay off people unless business is real bad. Cost control, product is developed and no need to carry that many people, cost control dictates that no new development take place, no business to support the overhead, merging with Zitl and combining staffs allow laying off some people, Z/M being bought out buy someone else, etc, etc, etc. Anyone want to venture a guess? Recent news about their contract with MONY in the past would have sent ZITL up. It has gone down since then. I wonder why. Interesting. IMO, they need a ton of these announcements to make some real numbers to support even their current price. Why has the quarterly report been delayed so long? This is strange. Any guesses? My final opinion is that it is very likely that many shorts will not wish to cover their very profitable positions this calendar year in order to avoid a tax until the next calendar year. If this is the case, then I would expect covering in January and this could very well give ZITL a short term pop up or at least a stable price. I also expect that in January, Y2K hype will accelerate once again putting more potential pop into Y2K companies. Finally, with your bats “fluttering” who knows what the short term movements will be. I would really appreciate your view over the next 60 days or so. Regards Bob T. (still short and will stay that way unless some definitive news breaks.) I am still short
