All/ Drop in stock prices

I can understand why oil stocks are falling given the drop in crude oil prices and the reduced outlook for a quick recovery in price, but why are the gas weighted companies falling just as fast? Case in point AXL.

I thought the outlook for gas was/is rosy??!

David: Last time around, S.America was not as desperate as today. Also the Reserves were totally underestimated. This time the situation is different for the following reasons.
a: The world's production is only at 85% capacity. Iraq,Russia and Indonesia are no where near max.
b: Reserves are large.
c: Technology to find new Oil/Gas has become so cheap and improved that every Country is discovering some.
d: The Energy Conservation program has slowed the Consumption of Oil.
e: The forecasted boom in China and India has slowed to a crawl. The age of one family one car is now eons away.

No two markets are alike. I hope this helps.

Good luck.!
