ISTN>>Interstate says Internet sales up 3 fold MITCHEL FIELD, N.Y., Dec 2 - Interstate National Dealer Services Inc., a provider of service contracts and extended warranties, said contracts through Internet marketing programs have tripled in the past year and are generating sales at a rate of about $10 million. Interstate, which said it is the leader in promoting service contract sales over the Internet, said the sales figures were based on results for the fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31. ''Based on our success to date and our strong belief that the Internet is a vital and valuable marketing channel, we will continue to devote the resources to maintain our marketing leadership and to expand our Internet activities,'' Chester Luby, the company's chief executive officer, said in a statement. Interstate said that during the past six fiscal years its sales have increased by 10 fold, and its net income grew at a compounded annual rate exceeding 60 percent.
