Joe,

I don't think that the Y2K problem is as bad as some predictions, but I do feel, that in general, the problem will be more widespread than most people think. My feeling is based on the still relatively large number of "older" PC systems still in many homes and businesses that will still be around when the Year 2000 arrives. One quick way to solve the Y2K problem with a PC is to "buy a new one". It is also an appealing way to go assuming the budget will allow it. If my feeling is correct, it should have a positive impact on PC sales for 1999 and 2000.

I might add that our company presently has about 50 percent of our PC population as 486 machines. Just today, we decided to replace all our 486's with new Pentium II PC's by the end of this year.
