Thats what you would expect him to say. In any event I can't see BT now doing deals on the T patch, what would be the point BT have already lost the greatest bargain in telecom history by trying knock the price down on the MCI deal so I doubt they will ever come back to the US and possibly cause embarrasment to their new partner (boss?) T on its own patch. No BT will go all over other parts of the World outside the Americas and deal with the blessing ( and consent?) of T.

Now what about QWST as a suitor. All that juicy fat cable all over the US and elsewhere. Its just that last mile, one more mile and they could have access to millions of customers in one stroke and then they'd be a 800lb gorilla. QWST market cap about $14bn from memory, plenty big enough. Alternatively WR how about the other way around. I'll bet there are quite a few QWST stockholders that would mind some of the risk being taken out. Plenty of cash there to do a deal like that. IMHO WCII purchase of QWST is the deal of the century.
